At the Joan P. Garner Library at Ponce de Leon and Stonecrest Library, ASIFA - South Animation Society offered free summer stop motion animation classes for teens aged 13-18. In these workshops, participants work in pairs to learn the basics of stop motion animation, from building individual shots to compiling them into a complete film. As Director of Programming, its my job oversee a diverse portfolio of educational initiatives, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission and goals. I am passionate about working closely with educators, administrators, and community partners to deliver high-quality, impactful learning experience for our participants. As one of the animation instructors for the Tech Titans T3 Mini Boot Camp with Black Women Animate Studios, I had the privilege to teach middle school students the fundamentals of 2D animation and stop motion in Newark, New Jersey.
